Prom & Homecoming Flowers in Wisconsin: The Complete Corsage & Boutonniere Guide
Everything you need to know about ordering prom and homecoming flowers — pricing, styles, color matching, and timing.
By Nicole
Prom and homecoming season is one of the most exciting times of the year for Wisconsin high schoolers. From the dress shopping to the group photos, every detail matters — and that includes the flowers. Even though it's a one-night event, the right corsage or boutonniere pulls the whole look together and creates a keepsake moment you'll remember for years. As a Wisconsin florist who's been creating prom and homecoming flowers for over two decades, I've put together this guide to help you order with confidence.
Corsage & Boutonniere Pricing
Pricing varies based on flower choice, complexity, and whether you'd like premium blooms like orchids or garden roses. Here's what you can expect to pay for prom and homecoming flowers in the Southeastern Wisconsin area:
| Item | Price Range | What's Included |
|---|---|---|
| Boutonniere | $15 – $35 | Single bloom with greenery and ribbon |
| Wrist Corsage | $25 – $50 | Multiple blooms on a wristlet band |
| Pin-On Corsage | $25 – $50 | Traditional pin-on design with greenery |
Wrist vs. Pin-On Corsages
The two most popular corsage styles are wrist corsages and pin-on corsages, and each has its advantages:
- •Wrist corsages are the most popular choice for prom. They slip onto the wrist like a bracelet, so there's no pinning required and they won't damage delicate fabrics. They're comfortable to wear all night and easy to put on yourself.
- •Pin-on corsages are the traditional style, pinned directly to the dress. They work beautifully on sturdier fabrics and give a classic, timeless look. If your dress has a lace or beaded bodice, just let me know and I'll design the corsage to work with your fabric.
Matching Your Flowers to Your Dress or Tux
The secret to beautiful prom flowers is coordination. Here's how I help you get the perfect match:
- •Send me a photo. The easiest way to get a perfect match is to snap a photo of the dress or tux and text or email it to me. I'll match the flower colors to your outfit's exact shade.
- •Bring a fabric swatch if you can. If you have a ribbon or fabric scrap, that's even better — it lets me match the ribbon and blooms precisely.
- •Don't forget the accessories. Shoes, jewelry, and even nail color can all play into the final design. The more details you share, the more cohesive the finished flowers will be.
- •Neutral is always safe. If your dress is a bold or unusual color, sometimes a white or cream flower with a matching ribbon looks more elegant than trying to perfectly replicate a hard-to-match shade.
When to Order Your Prom Flowers
I recommend placing your prom or homecoming flower order at least 2–3 weeks in advance. Here's why timing matters:
- •Popular prom weekends in the Waukesha and Milwaukee area fill up fast, and I want to make sure your order gets the attention it deserves.
- •Ordering early gives me time to source the exact blooms and ribbon colors to match your outfit.
- •If you're ordering for a group, early ordering ensures everyone's flowers are ready for the same pickup time.
Group & Friend-Group Orders
One of my favorite things about prom season is working with friend groups. When everyone in your group orders from the same florist, it keeps all the colors coordinated and makes pickup a breeze. Whether your group is heading to prom in Brookfield, Mequon, or anywhere across Southeastern Wisconsin, I can have every corsage and boutonniere ready at the same time so your group photos look perfectly put-together. Just have one person in the group reach out to coordinate, and I'll handle the rest.
